Ship of Fire

By Marion de Vries, Bernie Gaw, Tom Leighton and Suzanne Pasternak

1853. In the waters off Prince Edward County. A young Irish lass and a ship's crewman meet aboard The Ocean Wave, a luxury passenger steamship traveling between Montreal and Hamilton, on its fateful last voyage.
This musical is based on historical events and is inspired by the lives lived and lost off our southern shore and the heroic County folk who rescued the survivors.

July 23 - August 8 Schoolhouse
By Leanna Brodie
1938. A one-room schoolhouse in a small town in rural Ontario, a town not unlike this one. We meet Miss Linton, a fresh, young schoolteacher, just out of college, as she finds herself facing her first class of students, and a big heap of challenges. When a 'training school boy' appears in their midst she is faced with her biggest challenge yet. A play by turns hilarious and heart-warming, a delight for all ages.

6 - 23 Colours in the Storm
By Jim Betts
1917. Algonquin Park. A most unusual species has taken up residence in the park. An artist. It's Tom Thomson, one of Canada's most infamous painters. In a place of such raw beauty and ever-changing landscapes, Thomson paints thousands of 'sketches', obsessed with perfection. The locals look upon him with varying degrees of suspicion and amusement and here his life in the park and his mysterious death are played out through scenes and songs, with wit and charm.
