The west end of the lake is a fantastic place to get back to nature in a canoe or boat, with lots of wildlife including a wedge of beautiful mute swans and numerous bird species for bird watchers and nature lovers. When the campground opens on the long weekend in May, the migratory birds are often in full flight making quiet early-season visits to the campground a special treat.
The East Shore Camparks’ Rec Association organizes many social events for the campers and guests. These activities include weekly card tournaments, pot-luck dinners, dances, fishing derbies, game nights, corn and marshmallow roasts, and special long-weekend events such as our family day weekend on the civic holiday in August. We wrap up the summer with a special labour day weekend bash, with a huge BBQ on the week-end and live band or musical impersonators with dancing also held on the same weekend.
We have a final thanks giving dinner within the last couple of weeks in the season. The campground remains open until Thanksgiving weekend in October.
