Check Out PECCTAC’s New Look!
www.pecchamber.com
Recognizing the increased use of the Internet to search for
information, the Prince Edward County Chamber of Tourism &
Commerce has launched their new website.
www.pecchamber.com has a brand new look. Visitors to the
site can easily find what they want from searching out local
businesses to finding out what is happening in the area and
much more. All members of the Prince Edward County Chamber
of Tourism & Commerce are listed on the website in the
Business Directory. New to the site is a “Search”
function as well as an interactive web map to locate an individual
business that is highlighted on the well-established County
Red Map. Helpful links to other popular websites have also
been incorporated.
This project has been in the making for over a year. The
new website has been partially funded from an OSTAR application
that was approved earlier this year.
This website has been created by Stream Design – a
new PECCTAC member. Stream Design is a web development company
dedicated to bringing a user centric web design approach to
small business in Ontario. Stream Design helps companies to
affordably leverage the web as an efficient marketing, sales,
and customer service channel; solutions are developed and
delivered with an unwavering attention to the needs of the
customer, in balance with the needs of the business. To find
out more about Stream Design, please contact Mark Rowan at

Welcome Newly Elected Government
PECCTAC welcomes Mayor Finnegan and the newly elected Councillors
as well as the returning incumbents. We look forward to working
with the new Council!
PICTON BIA NOW ON-LINE
With a little help from friends, Picton BIA proudly inaugurated
its very own website this past July. The objective was to
provide a comprehensive list, perhaps for the first time,
of Picton’s services, shops, restaurants, and accommodations,
both for people planning a visit and for local residents.
Other goals were to offer a brief but attractive introduction
to the features and history of the town and an agenda of upcoming
events, especially the activities centred in Picton.
The new website, www.picton-bia.on.ca is linked to other County
websites e.g. The Prince Edward County Chamber of Tourism
& Commerce website, Taste the County website and the Prince
Edward County website.
Membership in the Picton BIA entitles you to be listed on
the website. And just who is a member of the BIA? Any business
or service operating within Picton’s town limits is
automatically a member of the BIA, which is funded through
a business tax levy.
The BIA board is grateful for the wise council of PECCTAC’s
President Lawrie Ackerman, the professional expertise of Anne
Van Vlack and InfoLink, and the footwork of our student data
gatherers, Kacey Cobb, Sarah Cobb, Danielle Reid and Mike
Richards, graphic designer, Carl Wiens and photographer, Peggy
de Witt, all of whom were instrumental in carrying out this
project.
