NEW PECCTAC PRESIDENT ELECTED

Following the Annual General Meeting the Prince Edward County Chamber of Tourism and Commerce (PECCTAC) Board of Directors elected a new President and a new position was created and filled. As of June 1st, 2004

Mr. Rob Brown of Majesty Charters is the new President of PECCTAC.

Rob Brown launched the very successful charter company in 2001 and has recently opened the restaurant “Majesty’s BAH HABAH HABAH BAH” at the Tip of the Bay Hotel & Marina. Rob recently authored and produced the “Richard Cory Murder Mystery” dinner theatre series, and is the co-founder of “County Cuisine” – a new gourmet food company featuring County produce and products. His previous experience in marketing will be a great asset to PECCTAC and the community.

The outgoing president, Ms. Lawrie Ackerman, would have remained on the board acting as Past-President, however increasing demand and membership, incorporated with the initiatives undertaken by the Board, has necessitated the need for a General Manager. Lawrie Ackerman has stepped down as President after completing her second term and accepted the offer to step in as General Manager.

Under her leadership PECCTAC has successfully fostered government funding (OSTAR Red), increased membership and implemented and launched the very successful website – www.pecchamber.com. She is the owner of LARP Consulting, a computer service and support company and has years of experience in the hospitality and banking industry.

The Board of Directors is very excited about the changes and looks forward to promoting and developing even stronger relationships in the community.

PECCTAC is a non-profit, volunteer based organization that “Builds Business For Business” in Prince Edward County.
