The Origins of Reflexology & How It Works
Reflexology is highly effective in reducing stress and pain throughout the body. Ideally, a deeply relaxed state is attained during the treatment. In this state, the function of the nervous system shifts mainly into its optimal parasympathetic (involuntary) mode. It’s also called homeostasis. When the body is in this state of relaxation, it has the ability to re-establish its balance and consequently its self-healing potential to reach internal peace and balance.
We are merely facilitators of the movement of energy, understanding that the better the movement of energy is in the body, the better position it is to heal.
About the Practitioner – Suzanne has been a Certified Reflexologist in Prince Edward County since June 2015. Suzanne received her certification in June 2015 from the Reflexology Training Academy of Canada. Other modalities I studied are the use of yoga, meditation, sound therapy and essential oils. Suzanne did an intense inquiry of meditation and yoga between 2008 and 2010, including an extended journey to India and Nepal. In 2009 she spent three months living in the Himalayas and volunteering at two animal rescue operations. Living amongst the energy of an ancient land containing the history and knowledge of healing and living off the land enhanced my intention and skill set of healing through the hands. Upon returning to Canada, Suzanne moved to the County in 2010.
